Isabel Serra
Coming from Posadas, Isabel completed her primary and secondary studies there and her university studies in Buenos Aires. While she was working in Posadas with her husband, the Las Marías Medical Service turned to them in 1986 to develop a completely innovative preventive medicine project for the time: the area of speech therapy.
So it was that “we came with our children and we loved the place,” Isabel begins. Her work in the Medical Service began with carrying out hearing tests on all the company's staff, mainly preventing hearing problems.

“What I liked most was precisely preventing health problems,” she tells us.
One of the challenges of her job was related to raising awareness among the workers, which took years, at a time when the Safety and Hygiene area did not yet exist. “The workers were not used to working with hearing protection. It was a job that we did almost individually,” she explains.
“Each person is given advice not only for work, but also for their home and activities outside of Las Marías,” she tells us. Another of the great achievements that Isabel mentions is the thorough speech therapy work they have done with the school, through which they care for all the children who enter. “An evaluation and an early diagnosis are made with them,” she shares with us proudly.
