Our way of working conscientiously and thinking about the long term and future generations is reflected in the certifications and distinctions that we have been awarded over the years.
HACCP
Risk Analysis and Critical Control Points awarded by the Agri-Food Certification Committee of IRAM. It is a recognition for our yerba mate production in its stages of storage, milling and packaging, which is based on a system of prevention and identification of critical points throughout the entire process and guarantees a healthy and quality product at each step.
Buenas Prácticas de Manufactura (BPM)
Good Manufacturing Practices for yerba mate and black tea awarded by the Argentine Institute for Standardization and Certification (IRAM). It fully guarantees quality in all stages of the production process from the nursery to marketing.
FSSC 22000
Las Marías is the first yerba mate company to certify this standard in its La Merced drying facility. FSSC 22000 provides a framework for auditing and certifying Food Safety and Security Management Systems, which ensure the provision of safe food and packaging for the consumer industry, with international and independent standards.
AA Seal
The Argentine Food Seal certifies that our yerba mate meets conditions that are superior to those established in the Argentine Food Code for the entire production chain, in relation to handling conditions, hygiene, traceability, product parameterization, etc.
Rainforest Alliance
Rainforest Alliance certification endorses part of Establecimiento Las Marías' tea production and guarantees more sustainable agricultural practices.
Forest Stewardship Council®
In 2001, Establecimiento Las Marías became the first Argentine company to certify Forestry Activity under the principles and criteria of the FSC ® that guarantee responsible management of both forest and human resources. In 2006, Forestal Las Marías certified Chain of Custody in the northern part of our country. In 2020, Establecimiento Las Marías also certified Chain of Custody, which allows it to export certified wood from its pine and eucalyptus forests to the world.
In direct relation to this forest management policy, Establecimiento Las Marías SACIFA adheres to and is committed to respecting the Principles and Criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®).
Industrial and Productive Tourism
This seal is part of the Argentine Tourism Quality System, awarded by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, and provides recognition to establishments committed to offering an open-door productivity proposal, adapted to the criteria of Quality and Sustainability.

Gold Medal for our tea
On two consecutive occasions, in 2015 and 2016, Taragüi tea received the ITQI Superior Taste Award, becoming the only tea in Latin America to be awarded this seal of quality that distinguishes its flavor, aroma and intensity. In 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2023, it took part in the Congress of the Tea Association of the USA, where it obtained the Gold Medal Tea Competition Winner in its category, a distinction that positions it as the best tea in Argentina for the quality of its leaf, the intensity, color and aroma of its infusion.
Made in Corrientes
We are proud to be part of Hecho en Corrientes, a provincial brand that represents a seal of identity, distinction and visibility of local values, potential and capabilities. It is found in each of our products.
Best Food Industry and Agricultural Excellence
In 2017, Las Marías was recognized as the Best Agri-Food Industry, and received the Gold Award for Agricultural Excellence, the highest award in the sector granted by Banco Galicia and the newspaper La Nación. It competed with 260 works from renowned companies and institutions. What stood out most about Las Marías was its business profile aligned with the human development of its staff and their families. The health care of the entire family group of its workers was highlighted and the emphasis that Las Marías places on education was highly valued.
Aliment.Ar Award
In 2019, it won the Aliment.Ar Award in the Beverages category. The initiative organized by Exponenciar recognizes Argentine food and beverage companies and SMEs that export and stand out for their added value. To select the winning companies, it was taken into account that they have made a significant contribution during the last export period, in addition to having achieved insertion in new external markets; also that they have developed commercial strategies that can be projected in the medium and long term; that they have an image and product that aims to solidify the territorial identity and, finally, that they have registrations, certifications, quality standards and official seals.
SIAL Innovation Award 2022
Our product aimed at promoting mate in the world, Taragüi Mate Experience, received the SIAL Innovation Award in Paris in the Non-Alcoholic Beverages category, becoming the first Argentine product to receive this award.
In addition, our mate kit for beginners received the Grand Prix Bronze, one of the three highest awards for outstanding winners of the most important food fair worldwide.
